Pushchairs And Country Life

If you live in the country or love the great outdoors the outdoors then you are likely to have a different list of required features for your baby pushchair than a city dwelling parent.

Spending time in the country will involve more uneven terrain and softer surfaces and there are numerous pushchairs available which will cope very well with this.

These May Be Useful Features To Look Out For -

The facility to change from fixed to swivelling wheels to suit the particular terrain

  • pneumatic tires to cushion the bumps and keep your baby comfortable
  • larger more rugged tires and sturdy wheels

It might also be sensible to choose from the darker colors as mud will show up very quickly on lighter shades.

Pushchairs For City Life

Parnets who live in the city or larger towns may have different requirements for their pushchair thn those who live in more rural areas.

For those in the cities getting around in crowds is probably a fact of daily life. Crowded areas feel even more crowded when you are trying to push a baby around! In urban areas people often rely more heavily on public transport to get around locally.

In these circumstances a pushchair which features articulated steering is likely to make getting about easier. They are more manoeuvrable and so are an advantage in tight spots.

Size and weight may also be important factors. If you are using public transport you do not want to have to lug a heavy pushchair on and off buses or trains whilst having to hold your baby at the same time. Also storage available for strollers on public transport is usually quite limited so a model which folds down to a small size is better.

Easy folding mechanism are important too - it's no fun wrestling with an awkward mechanism, bags of shopping plus a baby while a queue of people grow ever more impatient behind you!

Points To Consider before You Buy

Before you make your first visit to a store you should sit down and make a checklist of the features you will need in your new pushchair. Think about your lifestyle and how you get around.

The First and Most Important Requirement - is that your new pushchair MUST be suitable for a newborn baby. Newborns need to lie completely flat. Not all pushchairs are suitable for newborn babies so make sure to check this before you buy.

So Then Think About Your Lifestyle -

  • If you live in a city or any highly populated town then you are bound to have to fight your way through crowded areas with your pushchair.
  • will you have to lift your pushchair inand out of the car a lot?
  • Do you rely on public transport quite a lot?
  • Are you the outdoors type?
  • Is storage space in your home limited?
  • Will you need to carry shopping home?

There will no doubt be other considerations depending upon your own circumstances but this checklist may help as a starting point.

Of course your own personal tastes as to style color and design will be part of the equation too. There is so much to choose from that you are bound to be able to find a pushchair which looks god as well as being practical.

Baby Pushchairs - Which One To Choose?

Becoming a new parent involves a significant amount of expense. Your new baby will need many things including a pram or pushchair.

Pushchairs or strollers are probably the most expensive item on the shopping list so it is important to research properly before making a choice. There is a quite enormous variety of baby transport available to parents today and it is very easy to end up with something which does not really meet your requirements. The last thing you want is to find that when your baby reasches twelve months your pram is no longer suitable for him, and then having to spend yet more money on a replacement.

However if you choose carfully this can be avoided - make a checkist of the features you will need before you start to look around. Think about your lifestyle and where you will be using your pushchair.
